The KZN Department of Economic development has a mandate to provide timely and relevant information to various stakeholders about the state of the provincial economy. The publication of the Economic Statistics is an attempt to fill in the information gap by providing timely and updated data of the some economic indicators such GDP, employment, interest rates, inflation and trade data.

In addition this data, statistical publications are also available such as the Ezomnotho and Economic Developments in Brief which are published quarterly. This information will be useful to government policy makers, government agencies, district and local municipalities, potential and current investors, researchers, civil society, and other relevant stakeholders.
